Hi... my name is Scooby I came from St Croix USVI as a puppy and was very much loved by my family. A new baby with allergies and other health issues made it difficult for me to stay with them and the wonderful people at Pet Search agreed to take me in. I was born 9/9/2023 and I am told that I a retriever mix, but I think I have a handsome shepherd face. I am neutered, vaccinated, 4DX negative and microchipped. I am a little fearful of new people and will shy away, but once I get to know you and feel comfortable with my surroundings, I will love you and snuggle with you. But, you must be patient with me until I get to that point. I am housebroken and crate trained, and love to lay on my bed. I am good with other dogs and non reactive to cats. I have a loud bark when I see other dogs but it is usually just to say hello. I am a "whiner" when I want attention or need to go potty, which makes my foster mom laugh at me. She is very patient with me and I respond to her very well; I am still a little hesitant of my foster dad (but getting much better). I am looking for a low key family or home that will allow me to decompress and be patient while I adjust to my new surroundings.
