About Misty
Misty is a playful, smart, and easygoing 10-year-old terrier mix who’s come a long way and is ready for her forever home. She opens up quickly after a few rounds of fetch or a good ear scratch, and then her sassy, affectionate side comes through. Misty thrives when she feels included in day-to-day life and loves tagging along for walks, car rides, or just hanging out near her people. Fetch is her passion—and she’ll return the ball with a sparkle in her eyes that says she’s loving every moment. If brushing her soft coat is your thing, she loves that, too, and will take all the cuddles you offer, although she’ll always have energy left for one more game. Her journey hasn’t been easy; Misty was rescued from a tough start in a Texas shelter, bounced back from surgery to remove benign tumors, and overcame kennel cough. She’s now at a healthy 27 lbs, eats three small meals a day to stay in balance, and uses a slow feed bowl. Experienced with basic commands, crate training, leash walks, and house manners, Misty makes a low-key companion indoors. She won’t jump on furniture or people and always knows it’s time for a walk when the harness comes out—plus, she’s got a knack for modeling a new doggie outfit. Misty does have IVDD, which means her back legs are a little weak. She manages those challenges with grace, still running for the ball and exploring the yard. She’ll need a gentle adopter who can support her exercise and help her keep building strength—ideally in a home without many stairs and a securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch out and play. Misty gets along with children and other dogs, and she’s happiest being part of the family’s everyday routine. After everything she’s weathered, she’s ready to find the right match who’ll appreciate her resilience and cheerful spirit. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
