About Chowder

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Chowder is a hunk of fluffy love with a best-guess mix of Shar-Pei and Chow. Known for his super mellow demeanor, Chowder enjoys the simple pleasures—relaxing in the yard or curling up on the couch. He's extremely respectful of furniture and is perfectly content with a comfy dog bed, especially when it's near his people. Completely house trained, Chowder makes life easy for anyone hoping for a faithful companion. He’s currently thriving in a foster home with three other Shar Peis and gets along well with the canine crew, showing no issues when it comes to sharing space, food, or toys. While he hasn’t been on many play dates just yet, he seems to enjoy trotting around the backyard with his buddies. Chowder recently had to be shaved to address severe matting from neglect, but with steady care, his coat will return soon. Moving forward, his family will want to provide regular grooming to support the health of his lovely fur. Chowder is currently fostering in Tucson, AZ and is ready to find his forever home.
