About Sadie
Sadie is a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix with a shy demeanor shaped by her past experiences. Rescued from a fire hoarding situation, she spent a year in a quiet southern foster home before moving north. While she’s a gentle, sweet dog, Sadie remains timid and fearful of new situations, especially when it comes to going outdoors – she’s often found hiding in cozy corners or seeking comfort during storms or bedtime. Her flight risk means she absolutely requires a securely fenced yard and an adopter committed to patience and letting her sleep in bed. Loud noises and unfamiliar experiences send her into hiding, but Sadie has never shown aggression and sincerely appreciates gentle pets and handling. Sadie gets along with other dogs, preferring calm companions and setting boundaries with rowdy pups. She hasn’t been fostered with kids or cats, but if a home includes children, older and quieter is best. She is current on her vaccinations and is spayed. This isn’t a starter dog—Sadie needs an experienced adopter prepared for a long, gradual transition. She will reward that commitment with a quietly loyal presence. Meet and greets are scheduled after application approval. Sadie is in New London, WI, under the care of Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!

Questions about Sadie

Chihuahua mixes like Sadie generally do best in quiet homes with gentle routines. Apartments or houses are both fine, as long as there’s a safe, enclosed area for outdoor time, especially for a timid dog like Sadie.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Sadie and most Chihuahua mixes only need a modest amount of outdoor space for potty breaks and gentle walks. She benefits most from a securely fenced yard due to her flight risk and shyness.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua mixes can do well with children, but for Sadie, older and calm kids are more appropriate to match her quiet, cautious nature and avoid overwhelming her.
