Alex is a handsome 3-year-old chocolate Lab with a heart as big as his smile. His journey hasn’t been the easiest—he and his brother once found themselves in a high-kill shelter in Louisiana—but Alex is all about second chances and happy endings. They were thankfully pulled to safety by a rescue, and a kind local kennel gave them a place to land. Even when plans fell through and they were left waiting again, Alex just kept shining with his sweet, easygoing nature. When we stepped in, Alex got the full VIP treatment, including all his vetting. Like many southern pups, he tested positive for heartworms, but he handled it like a champ and has successfully completed treatment. He’s now healthy, happy, and more than ready for his forever home. And his personality? Total gem. Alex is a true gentleman—no jumping, no chaos, just a well-mannered boy who knows how to relax and enjoy life. He walks nicely on a leash, gets along great with dogs of all sizes, and has that classic, lovable Lab personality that makes everyone fall for him. He’s the kind of dog who will fit right in and make every day a little brighter. Alex is currently being fostered in Louisiana.
