Meet Nigel, a 6-year-old Miniature Schnauzer weighing 19.4 pounds. This shy and sweet boy has a gentle soul and is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue to build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Nigel can be a little reserved when meeting new people and will need time to develop trust at his own pace. With patience and kindness, his soft personality begins to shine through. Once comfortable, he shows his playful side and truly enjoys engaging with other dogs-often seen running around or happily offering playful play bows. He does especially well with canine companions and would likely benefit from a confident, friendly dog in the home to help guide and reassure him as he continues to grow. Nigel thrives in a peaceful environment with steady routines and gentle encouragement. He will require a securely fenced yard in his future home. We require an in-person meet and greet to ensure the best fit for both Nigel and his future family ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
