About Courtesy Listing Sumrák
Sumrák—also called Sumo—is a 5-year-old border collie and pit mix looking for a new home in Moscow, ID. Sumo is deeply loving and has an easygoing attitude with children, treating them as his own. He gravitates toward women due to some tough past experiences with men, but once he warms up, he’s friendly with everyone. Sumo’s social skills with other dogs depend on their personalities and situation, but he does best when interactions are monitored. Cats, however, are a hard no for him—his prey drive is too strong. Sumo’s separation anxiety means he should not be left alone for long stretches, especially in wire kennels. He does well with his prescribed Trazodone, happily settles in an open crate if people are around, and needs a new home with someone who has a flexible schedule. He’s smart, fun, and knows several tricks, but his 70-pound frame makes his tendency to jump significant. Sumo enjoys walks most with a harness, and water-based activities are right up his alley—just don’t try to bathe him. He’s house trained, neutered, has a short brindle and white coat, and stays healthy with monthly cytopoint injections for allergies and a special diet. Sumo’s current family is grateful for any updates from his future adopters, but this is entirely optional. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
