Meet Sumrák, nickname Sumo! He is about 5 years old and a border collie pit mix. Sumo is a very loving dog, he loves children like they are his own and loves people especially women (past trauma with men but is perfect with them once he warms up). He gets along with other dogs DEPENDING on many different factors (other dogs body language, whether it's an unfixed male and the tension in the situation etc), he does whine when he sees a dog and is not able to get to the dog. He does not do well with cats at all, he has a prey drive when it comes to them. Sumo does struggle with some separation anxiety. His current owners stated that he will tear a wire kennel apart if left alone but does well on his current dosage of 200 mg of Trazadone. He kennels up very well and enjoys the kennel ((with door open)) as long as people are present. If left unkenneled he will tear open the trash in the can or food if left anywhere within his reach. He also gets a shot of cytopoint once monthly for allergies which has worked for him perfectly. If not dosed he develops a rash on his underside. He is currently on Kirkland weight loss dog food (1 cup 2x daily). His current owners would love to keep in minimal contact (biyearly updates and pictures) with his new owners as they've had him since 4 months old, but if that doesn't sit well with his new owners, that is okay too. Sumo needs someone who has the ability to spend a decent amount of time with him. He has a jumping problem which is a bit problematic as he weighs ~70lb but can do many tricks like shake paw (both), sit, lay down, go to his spot (dog bed) and sit pretty (sitting with front paws up in the air). He pulls when on a leash via collar but is better controlled on a leash via harness. He is also up to date on his shots but is due for his parvo shot soon. He loves swimming and anything to do with water (unless he's getting a bath) .
