Romeo
AvailableRomeo is a mixed breed Cane Corso/Neapolitan Mastiff, roughly 1 year and 4 months old, with a striking gray/blue/silver coat. He is an extra-large, young neutered male and is currently in Sacramento, CA. Romeo is house trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, and gets along with dogs, cats, and children. He has a gentle temperament and is a wonderful companion for a family ready for a loving, slightly clumsy friend.
About Romeo
Romeo is a big-hearted, goofy young dog, known for his soulful eyes and the kind of jowls that win over everyone he meets. Despite being a bit clumsy, he's never short on happiness—a gentle, affectionate companion who leans into you for pets and snuggles. Romeo comes with all the sweetness of his name, always loving, always up for attention. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and quietly ignores cats. Kids are in his comfort zone too. While he's recovering from being underweight, he aims to fill out to roughly 115–120 lbs. Romeo does have a neurological condition that causes him to wobble and stumble, though it doesn’t slow his spirit. His doctors believe it could improve with antibiotics, but his future mobility is uncertain, requiring a family willing to handle follow-up neurology care and avoid roughhousing or stairs. The rescue is currently covering his medical expenses while his treatment plan is still evolving. Romeo is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. For now, they’re searching for a dedicated foster, foster-to-adopt, or adopter ready to cheerfully manage his needs and love him as he is. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Romeo
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Romeo is a Cane Corso/Neapolitan Mastiff mix, best suited for a spacious home that can handle the needs of a gigantic, gentle dog. He thrives in households able to offer a calm, comfortable place with limited stairs due to his neurological condition.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Romeo's breed mix usually appreciates a large, fenced yard to move around. Because of his size and clumsiness, he'll do best with enough room to stretch his legs safely, but not so much rugged terrain or steep stairs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Cane Corso and Neapolitan Mastiffs, like Romeo, tend to be very gentle and protective with children. Romeo’s friendly, calm personality only adds to his suitability for families with kids.
