He attended the PAWS program for companion and stability partner training but wasn’t able to complete it, as he can be a bit reactive when meeting new people at first. After a few minutes, though, Archie warms up and is ready to bond. Turning one year old in December, Archie is a wonderful mix—55% Labrador Retriever, with a strong German Shepherd influence and a touch of a few other breeds. His playful Lab side shines through; he loves carrying toys or bones, enjoys water, and is eager to follow his leader. Gentle-natured, Archie was the quiet and cuddly puppy of his litter and quickly found a family. He was later returned due to family circumstances, not through any fault of his own. His previous family said he was fantastic with their 6-year-old and is quite the mamma’s boy. Archie craves human companionship but is both crate trained and housebroken. He is not a fence jumper and has a high prey drive, making him a potential hunting companion. During a recent stay at Snake River 4 Paws for boarding, he did well when encountering new people, though may initially be reserved. Archie is neutered, vaccinated, and trained for both home and kennel. He is looking for a dedicated person or family to give him the love and companionship he deserves.
