At about 6 months old, he combines that classic puppy curiosity with a gentle, close-to-you personality that is truly endearing. Cliff is both vision and hearing impaired, so he experiences the world differently. He relies on the guidance of confident canine companions and really blossoms when paired with another friendly dog. Playing with other pups is one of his favorite things, and he often looks to them for cues on navigating new situations. Cliff is affectionate, prefers to stay near his people, and is gradually building up his confidence as he settles into foster care. He is learning crate training and house training, showing steady progress as he adjusts to routine and consistency. Extremely food-motivated, Cliff is a quick study and should find positive reinforcement training both rewarding and enjoyable. While he hasn’t mastered formal commands yet, his eagerness to learn shines through. Due to his unique needs, Cliff will thrive in a patient and understanding home that is willing to help him build confidence at his own pace. A household with another sociable dog would be especially beneficial for him. Cliff will require continued positive reinforcement training and, as part of the adoption process at Green Dogs Unleashed (GDU), preference is given to adopters willing to attend a six-week in-person training course at the GDU headquarters in Troy, VA. Out-of-area adopters may be considered if they are dedicated to completing an approved training curriculum. Cliff is still available for adoption, but positions fill fast as applications may already be in progress. Applicants must fill out a full application and be sure to check both their inbox and spam folder for a response after submitting. Approved adopters should be prepared to travel to Troy, VA for a meet and greet if applying from out of state. Adoption screenings require patience and only completed applications will be processed. Cliff comes with age-appropriate vaccinations, neuter surgery, and preventative care, with a minimum adoption fee of $400 to help cover these expenses. Future routine care and required boosters will be the responsibility of the adopter.
