About Ruby
Meet Ruby—the pictures hardly capture how expressive and lovable she is in person. At about a year old and a compact 33 pounds, Ruby's a brindled terrier mix with a cheerful attitude. She brings out smiles everywhere she goes and has an easy blend of curiosity and affection. Ruby locks eyes with you and, in that moment, makes it pretty hard not to imagine her settled right into your home. She enjoys time outside with her kennel friends, oscillates between bursts of play and soaking up attention on a volunteer's lap, and is always ready for new adventures—she even enjoys a good car ride and exploring new parks. Ruby is gentle when taking treats, knows "sit," and isn’t shy about doling out kisses. She needs ongoing training and regular exercise typical for her age but is already proving herself adaptable and ready for an active home. She gets along well with other dogs at the rescue, is tolerant of handling, and seems open to meeting new animal friends. Ruby does best in homes with adults or families with kids eight and up, and the rescue is happy to coordinate meet-and-greets with your current pets to be sure everyone’s a fit. Fun fact: Ruby was born on April 16, making her an Aries—no wonder she’s so spirited and ready for adventure. Start your journey together! Apply now.
