About Alphonse
Alphonse and his brother Edward ended up in a rural North Carolina shelter after being abandoned, but they're now thriving with a rescue in Connecticut. Alphonse is the outgoing one—with that unmistakable smooth Border Collie look and a bright spark in his eye. He’s made it through the shelter shuffle easily and doesn’t show any signs of neglect or trauma. DNA testing confirmed that Alphonse is mostly Border Collie, even though a mix of other breeds shows up in his history. He’s incredibly intelligent and high energy, a classic working dog at heart. Adopters with experience handling active breeds will get the most out of him, especially if they’re willing to keep up with training and give him the socialization he craves. Alphonse fits right in with multiple dogs or even cats, as long as there are older, playful animals able to handle a young pup’s energy. He’d do well with active families whose children know how to be gentle with young dogs. You can adopt him solo or as a pair with his brother. He’s in great health, vaccinated, and ready for a new chapter. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
