At just 2 years old and 54 pounds, Barkus is both house trained and crate trained, though crating is not necessary when you leave the house. This friendly fellow is currently being treated for heartworm and will be available for adoption in May. He’s microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations, so he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life. Barkus loves attention from people and would do best with older children. He welcomes visitors into the home and is generally fine with calm introductions. While he likes being around other dogs, he prefers slow, proper introductions and can also thrive as the only pet, soaking up all your love. It isn’t known how he feels about cats yet. His favorite activities include going for walks, enjoying car rides, and working on training—he already knows “come” and is eager to learn more. He loves chewing on toys and would love a committed home that will help build his confidence and give him the time he needs to warm up to his new friends.
