About Olive
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Olive is one of those dogs you simply can’t forget once you meet her. She’s a sweet Hound mix, estimated to be about 6–8 years old and weighing around 25 pounds, making her the perfect small-to-medium-sized companion. Olive brings a calm, soothing presence wherever she goes, yet still has that touch of spark that keeps life interesting. Her journey began in a surprising way—picture driving down a quiet country road when two 'walking Halloween decorations' step out of the brush. That curious sight was Olive and her friend Benjamin. Since then, Olive has left her uncertain past behind and is learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Once quite shy, she’s becoming more confident every day, thanks to her daily walks. Continued walks and gentle encouragement will help her continue this journey forward. Olive is intelligent, gentle, and always eager to please. She’s crate trained and making steady progress on her house manners. She does well on a harness and loves exploring outdoors, though her hound instincts can come alive when she spots a squirrel—so it’s important to always use a secure leash. Due to her strong prey drive, Olive must go to a home without cats. She’s not high-maintenance, instead thriving in a quieter, steady environment. A fenced yard is a bonus, but she will do just as well with regular leash walks and attentive supervision. At the end of the day, Olive is happiest enjoying the simple things—lounging on the couch, spending time with her person, and soaking up a peaceful home life. She would make a wonderful companion for a retiree, empty nester, or anyone looking for a loyal, low-drama dog eager to be part of the family. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
