Benjamin is a male, adult Rat Terrier mix of medium size, currently in the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue. His vaccinations are up to date and he is already neutered. While he is not suited for homes with cats due to his high prey drive, he would thrive in a loving environment that appreciates an energetic and clever companion.

About Benjamin

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Imagine driving down a quiet country road, and suddenly out of the brush come two playful figures—this was Benjamin and his companion Olive when they were rescued. Benjamin is a lively and sweet Rat Terrier mix, around 2 years old and weighing 27 lbs. True to his breed, he adores playing with toys, especially destuffing them, and once his energetic bursts are over, he'll happily snuggle beside you for some well-earned relaxation. This intelligent boy is always eager to learn and will certainly keep you on your toes. Benjamin is working on his house manners and is comfortable staying in a crate. Outdoors, he walks well on a harness and enjoys exploring, but he has a strong prey drive—especially when squirrels are around—so it's important that he is never off leash unless in a securely fenced yard. Absolutely no cats should be in his home due to his prey drive, but a fenced yard is highly recommended, though not essential if he's always leashed when outdoors. If you're a fan of the energetic, fun-loving personality of a Jack Russell, Benjamin will check all your boxes. He is ready to find a forever family who can keep up with his spirit and offer plenty of love. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
