About Archie

Say hello to Archie, a 1 1/2-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a big heart and an even bigger need for his perfect family. Archie is visually impaired; he's blind in one eye and can see only a little from the other. That hasn't slowed him down. He’s adjusted to his world with a plucky spirit and makes up for it with sharp hearing and a love for soft voices and gentle touch. Sometimes he barks if he loses track of his person, but reassurance and snuggles help him find his comfort zone again. Archie is playful and gains confidence quickly—give him a fenced yard for safety, and soon you'll spot him sprinting around once he's learned the layout. He’s a champion cuddler, known for curling up in laps and showering those he trusts with affection. Archie enjoys the company of other dogs in his foster home and is a pro at shaking his toys, always hoping for a good chase. In the right setting, he could even excel at blind dog agility. Archie needs a home willing to keep him safe, patient enough to let him map the space, and best with kids aged 10 and up. If you have a secure yard and are willing to help a special dog thrive, Archie is ready to join your pack. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
