About Apollo
Meet Apollo, a 14-month-old pit bull/boxer mix with an outsized personality and a heart to match. Apollo is the ultimate playmate: joyful, curious, and always eager to be close to his people. He’s never far from his toys, spending hours in the yard with his foster siblings or snuggling up for a cuddle when playtime winds down. Other dogs are a source of endless fun for Apollo—he gets along great and thrives when he’s part of the pack. He’s food-motivated and smart, having already learned to sit and now working on 'down.' If there’s a treat involved, he’s all in—but he does enjoy a little mischief, especially when it comes to counter surfing. Apollo has picked up on using the dog door and reliably heads outside to take care of business. There’s some escape artist in Apollo’s genes, though—he’s not a fan of being crated alone and has managed to break out more than once, always ending up happily on the couch with a toy. He’ll settle in his crate only if you’re nearby, since company is what he wants most. Apollo is receiving heartworm treatment, but it doesn’t dampen his vibrant spirit or contagious happiness. He needs a home that welcomes his playful side, embraces his need for connection, and continues gentle training. Give Apollo a chance, and he’ll quickly show you what a loyal and affectionate companion he can be. Start your journey together! Apply now.
