Ace
AvailableAce is a small, short-coated male Chihuahua in warrenville, SC. He's 8 years and 3 months old and is neutered, house trained, and up to date on vaccinations. With no interest in cats and a friendly attitude towards other dogs, Ace is looking for an active household that can offer him patience and security.
About Ace
Ace spent some tough years, but he’s more than ready to choose his new family for good. The shelter saw real potential in him, and he’s really flourished in foster care. Now that he’s officially ready for adoption, Ace is hoping to meet someone patient and active who’ll give him a real shot at happiness. Ace is a small male chihuahua, about 12 pounds, with a short coat and the energy of a much younger dog. His birthday is February 18, so he’s a big-hearted Aquarius—expect a loyal and quirky companion. At 8 years old, he still loves adventures and playtime. Meeting new people can bring out his nervous side, and he sometimes gets nippy if he’s scared, but with a slow introduction and respect for his boundaries, his real personality shines through. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and doesn’t bother the cats in his foster home. Ace hasn’t met young children; he’ll do best in a home with kids 12 or older who know how to respect a dog’s space. He’s house trained, not used to being crated, and he’ll need a securely fenced yard—no electric fences or doggie doors. Ace is currently heartworm positive, and his treatment will be covered by the rescue until he tests negative. He’s up to date on all his shots, is neutered, and microchipped. Questions about Ace

Ace, as a Chihuahua, does well in smaller living environments like apartments or homes with limited space, especially if he gets daily exercise. His small size makes him adaptable to various households, provided he's kept comfortable and secure.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas like Ace don’t require a large yard, but they benefit from a protected space to explore and play. A securely fenced yard is ideal for Ace to feel safe while outdoors.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahuas can do well with older, respectful children. Ace is recommended for homes with children 12 and up who understand his boundaries and can respect his need for slow acclimation.
