After waiting two years in a rescue in Arkansas without being adopted, Big Bones gave him a chance to find a loving home in Colorado. Abe is hoping you'll be the one to share adventures like walks, hikes, playing fetch, splashing in water, and snuggling on the couch. He lets you know when he needs to go out, generally gets along with most dogs, and did well with cats during his test—he simply ignored them! Abe absolutely adores people, from kids to adults, and will follow you almost anywhere (unless the vacuum is involved!). He’s an affectionate, responsive companion who knows several commands: "outside," "sit," "down," "paw," and "come." Although he may get excited and jump up, he’s gentle with taking treats and isn't food-aggressive toward humans. However, he prefers not to share his food or treats with other dogs, so he may do best as an only dog (but he enjoys playtime with friends) or with another laid-back dog in a home dedicated to clear boundaries and continued training.
