About Jack

Jack is a young, tricolor German Shepherd mix who’s been through a lot for his age. He first came to the shelter as a gentle, submissive pup. After trying hard to adjust, he was moved to a foster home, but eventually returned. Now, at just over 1½ years old, Jack’s future is uncertain and he’s facing possible euthanasia. With people, Jack can be affectionate and friendly, especially once he gets a chance to warm up. Sometimes he’s hesitant with new folks, so patience is key. He’s learning quickly—he knows sit and stay, is house trained, and is becoming a pro on leash. Jack enjoys playing with toys and loves a good squeaky ball. He thrives on routine, belly rubs, and snuggles once he feels safe. He’s handled the foster’s other pets well, making friends with a cat, another dog, and even a bunny. Kids are his favorite, though his excitement sometimes gets the best of him, so guidance helps him settle. Jack just needs someone willing to give him stability, time, and gentle guidance so his sweet nature can shine. Because he was born in early September, Jack is a Virgo—reliable and eager to please.
