About Asher
Your new best friend is just one click away. Meet Asher! Asher is a big, handsome young dog with a friendly personality and tons of potential. At just over a year old and born under Capricorn, he's still growing into himself and learning how to navigate the world, but he already enjoys people, activity, and being part of a routine. He does great meeting new people and loves outings like walks and exploring. Although not especially interested in toys, Asher is highly engaged through interactions and thrives on regular exercise and structured activities. His strong food motivation makes him an excellent candidate for ongoing training. Asher has already picked up some basic obedience skills and responds well to confident handlers who provide him with clear guidance. While he may get excitable and pull on leash, he consistently looks to his person for direction and continues to improve with consistency. Currently a regular at doggy daycare, Asher enjoys playing and socializing with female dogs, but he’s best suited for a home without male dogs. Dog parks aren't recommended for him, though he does well in structured, controlled settings. Grooming is part of his routine—he tolerates baths, brushing, nail trims, and professional grooming well. He’ll need brushing two to three times a week and regular ear care to help prevent ear infections in one ear. Asher is curious yet cautious around cats and may coexist with a dog-savvy cat given thoughtful introductions and supervision. His ideal home will provide structure, routine, confident leadership, and opportunities for ongoing enrichment. In return, you’ll gain a friendly, social, eager companion. Please note: This is a courtesy post. Placement is handled directly with Asher's current owner, not the AHHS program. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
