About Falcor
Falcor is a medium-sized Great Pyrenees mix with a big personality and sensitive spirit. Deaf since birth, he’s learning hand signal commands and relies on routines, body language, and a gentle vibration collar to feel secure and communicate. Falcor thrives with positive reinforcement and benefits from medication to manage general anxiety, which current adopters should be willing to continue with their vet. He prefers to enjoy meals and prized treats in his own space to avoid stress. Socially, Falcor does well with smaller or female dogs and enjoys dogs with a more easygoing temperament, but introductions to new canine friends need to be slow and structured. With children, he does his best with calm, mindful kids who respect his space. He adores his people and insists on affection—don't be surprised if he tries to claim your pillow! Falcor has tons of energy and will race through the yard or the snow but won’t turn down a lazy day on the couch. He’s a big fan of routine, puzzle games, and enrichment toys, and he’s always eager for training, already making progress with obedience and muzzle training. He can get anxious in new or busy settings and needs patience as he continues to build confidence. Mouthiness, resource guarding, and separation anxiety occasionally come up, but respond well to routine and consistent reinforcement. Falcor is Lyme & Anaplasmosis positive and is currently being treated with Doxycycline. Ready for someone willing to meet his needs, Falcor is sweet, affectionate, and just wants to connect deeply with his person. With structure and empathy, he’ll shine as a loyal companion.
