About Gunner
Gunner is a lively male hound mix, about 5 years old, and weighing in at a healthy 50 pounds. Rescued from a small-town dog pound, he embodies the goofy spirit typical of his breed. Gunner is crate-trained and responds well when called. He enjoys car rides, sits patiently for treats, and walks nicely on a leash. Being an affectionate soul, he loves human companionship and is a fan of all kinds of toys and treats. Despite the Texas heat, Gunner prefers the comfort of indoors, where he happily snoozes on the couch. He will venture out to potty and play briefly but is eager to return to the cool air. Gunner’s hound instincts often shine through. He can leap impressively when spotting a squirrel and doesn’t hesitate to bark at passersby or neighborhood pets. While he’s a good boy, he can be a bit mischievous, like counter-surfing when tempted. Although he’s still refining his house-training skills around little dogs, he’s making good progress. Gunner is neutered, fully vaccinated, tattooed, and microchipped. He has successfully completed heartworm treatment and is now on a heartworm and flea prevention regimen. He’s ready to find his forever home either in-state or out-of-state. For more information, Gunner’s adoption fee is $200 locally and $400 for out-of-state adoptions, which includes safe transport by a trusted company. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
