About Tucker
Meet Tucker! Tucker is a five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd/Doberman Pinscher mix who lives for affection and adventure. At about 95 pounds, he’s got a big heart to match his frame, wrapped up in a warm black and tan coat. Tucker thrives on activity—fetch, tug, and beach outings are some of his favorite things—but he’s just as thrilled to curl up on the couch. He’s a master of snuggling and will happily claim his spot on the furniture, hoping that’s allowed in his new place too. He’s completed formal obedience training, knows all his basic commands, and responds especially well to gentle, consistent direction. Tucker enjoys structure on walks and can get excited around other dogs, but he’s made excellent progress staying calm even in busy environments. While he gets along with other dogs when introductions are slow and steady, his high prey drive means he should not live with cats or small animals. He is crate trained, house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines. Tucker does have sensitive skin, so he needs a beef or salmon-based diet and gentle shampoo, but beyond that he's healthy and always up for fun. Tucker will do best with someone experienced with large breeds—someone who’ll appreciate his loyal, goofy spirit and the comfort of a big dog snoring by their side after a long walk or puzzle game. He’s open to long-distance adopters too, since love doesn’t care about miles. Tucker is waiting for a home that will cherish him as much as he cherishes his people.
