About Mavis
Mavis—also known by nicknames Maeve and Mavey Baby—is a six-year-old Saint Bernard with a reputation for stealing the driver’s seat whenever she’s in the car. Weighing in at 120 pounds, she is a low-energy girl with the occasional quick burst of goofy zoomies. Mavis takes her daily walks seriously but would also be happy to nap by your side all afternoon. She’s deeply affectionate and bonds strongly with her people, happiest in a calm household where she can be the center of attention. Separation anxiety is something she’s working on with some help from medication. Having spent most of her life as an only dog after growing up with canine siblings, Mavis now prefers to be the only dog at home. She’s reactive toward other dogs, but experts think with proper, slow introductions—especially with larger males—she might be able to adjust. She thrives with cats and does especially well with kids over twelve. One of her quirky joys is being blow-dried; she comes running the moment she hears the dryer going in the bathroom. If you’re looking for a gentle giant to brighten your routines and lounge the days away together, Mavis is ready. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
