About Bastion
Bastion started his journey as a streetwise tomcat, destined for the life of a TNR, until circumstances—and some compassion—brought him in. This seal point Siamese has already survived quite a lot. Severe entropion left his eyes in rough shape, leading to near-blindness and repeated infections until he got veterinary care. Add FIV from his time outdoors, and Bastion’s had to fight for everything. Yet as soon as he got his bearings post-neuter, he surprised his rescuers—rubbing against the trap and meowing for attention, showing a big heart underneath the tough shell. Out of the street, he's adapted quickly, showing he’s affectionate on his own terms. Bastion loves chin rubs, long strokes, and time with his foster, often climbing into her arms, especially on harder days. While he doesn’t appreciate belly or butt scratches, and prefers not to be approached while lying down, he’s made it clear he enjoys human company—once you understand his signals. He gives warning huffs before the rare nip, so experienced cat folks who read feline body language will help Bastion continue to thrive. He navigates life well with other animals, unbothered by his foster’s dogs and indifferent to the cats unless challenged. Boundaries matter: all housemates, human or animal, have to respect them. Bastion’s eye surgery was a success; occasional drainage in his left eye is possible, but otherwise, ongoing care shouldn’t be necessary. He’s about four years old and comes fully vetted, with his neuter, vaccinations, parasite treatments, and microchip included. He’s learning what it means to be an indoor cat, and with an adopter who understands and appreciates his journey, Bastion will keep opening up as an extraordinary companion.
