About Schnauzer Dogs

Schnauzers are spirited, intelligent dogs known for their distinctive bearded muzzle and wiry coat. The Standard Schnauzer is the original size, but the term often encompasses all three sizes. They are versatile, loyal, and make excellent companions and watchdogs.

Adopting a Schnauzer brings a devoted, protective companion into your home. They are good with children, alert watchdogs, and adaptable to many living situations. Their hypoallergenic coat and moderate exercise needs make them popular family pets.

Snowmelt is gradual, and higher-elevation trails may not open until late May or June. The Deschutes River trail through town dries out first. Spring can bring unpredictable weather with sunny warm days followed by snow.

Dry, sunny summers with cool mornings are ideal for hiking. Wildfire smoke from surrounding forests can occasionally degrade air quality in August. The Deschutes River provides cooling on hot days, but watch for strong currents.
