**This dog is currently not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. We are assisting his current owner in finding him a new home, at no fault of his own. If you are interested in Jax, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Meet Jax Jax is a confident, high-energy terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. This goofy, fast-paced boy is a total people pleaser who thrives on attention, activity, and adventure. Whether he's exploring new sniff spots, romping at the dog park, or curling up for a cuddle after a long day, Jax brings joy and enthusiasm wherever he goes. Jax absolutely loves his daily walks and outdoor time. He's always ready to go, especially if there are flowers to sniff or new places to explore. His favorite toys are balls and chew toys, and he's a big fan of dental chews too. Mealtime is another highlight of his day-he enjoys enrichment feeders that keep his busy mind engaged. He's smart and eager to learn, especially when treats are involved. Jax already knows several basic commands like sit, lay down, come, go to bed, and more. He's crate trained and mostly housebroken, though he may need a little extra consistency due to increased thirst from his medication. His leash manners and recall could use some continued work, but his motivation and intelligence make him a great candidate for further training. Jax is very social and enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. He does well at the dog park and would likely thrive with a playful dog companion closer to his age and energy level. That said, his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much for more reserved dogs-he's still learning when to take a break from playtime. He's been around children and is friendly, though older kids would be a better match since he can be a bit jumpy when excited. He has had limited exposure to cats and is mostly curious about them. As for his "recipe," Jax is a delightful mix of breeds: 31% Chihuahua, 9% Yorkshire Terrier, 4% Dachshund, 3% Miniature Pinscher, 10% Pomeranian, 5% Shih Tzu, 2% Pekingese, 2% Poodle, 1% American Eskimo, 13% Boston Terrier, 5% Boxer, 8% Siberian Husky... and 100% good boy. Jax does have idiopathic epilepsy and takes phenobarbital twice daily to manage it. Because of this, he needs a dedicated home that can consistently administer his medication on schedule. His medication can increase his thirst and appetite, which may lead to occasional potty accidents, so a patient and attentive adopter will be important. Overall, Jax is a fun, affectionate, and lively companion who will do best in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and love. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you laughing, moving, and cuddled up at the end of the day, Jax might just be your perfect match.
