Meet Spot, a loving and gentle soul who is looking for a fresh start and a family to call his own! Spot is an owner surrender who arrived in really rough shape. He was underweight, extremely anemic due to being infested with fleas, and miserable from secondary skin and ear infections. After several weeks of treatments, medications, good nutrition and TLC, he has made a full recovery! His skin is healing nicely and he has completed treatment for his fleas and the anemia. His personality has really come out, he is such a mellow, sweet, affectionate boy. Spot has not shown any aggression toward anyone or anything during his time here. Even during all the treatments and handling he needed, he remained kind and trusting. He is a gentle and polite boy who knows "sit" and will lean his head into you for some good pets and scratches! With other dogs, Spot appears submissive and curious, though he’s still showing us more of his personality each day. He has not been tested around children but has been good with all of the strangers that have come to meet him. At around 2 years old, he’s past *most of* the puppy chaos but still young enough for many adventures ahead. He’s also been a very clean boy in his kennel and is reported to be mostly house trained—he hasn’t had an accident while in our care. That said, he’s still a young dog, so a little consistency will go a long way. We recommend crating him when unattended and being prepared for a brief refresher on house training as he adjusts to a new home. Spot had tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne diseases. He is neutered and up to date on his core vaccines. To cover a small portion of his medical bills his adoption fee is $200 and will go toward our Stray Fund to help other dogs in need like Spot <3 He is a loving boy who deserves all the love in the world.
