About Beast

Beast is available on a first come, first served basis. To meet this pet, please come to the shelter during adoption hours, fill out a survey with your information, and then you'll meet with an adoption coordinator who will introduce you and walk you through the adoption process. We recommend Beast go home with no children under 6.

About American Bulldog Dogs

American Bulldogs are muscular, athletic dogs with a confident and friendly personality. They are descendants of working bulldogs brought to the American South and were originally used as farm utility dogs. Today they are beloved family companions known for their loyalty and courage.

Adopting an American Bulldog brings a gentle giant into your home. They are surprisingly affectionate and love being close to their people. With proper socialization, they get along well with children and other pets.

Hot, humid summers with severe thunderstorm risk call for careful planning of outdoor activities. Walk in the morning or evening and carry water for your pet. The Missouri River trails and Heartland of America Park offer scenic but exposed routes, so seek shade.
