Pet Location: Rain is currently living in a foster home! If you'd like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816) 986-4426. My Friends at Wayside say: - I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me. - New people and things make me a little nervous in the shelter. My home needs are: - New people and things make me a little nervous. Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home. - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. Hi, I’m Rain, I am the sweetest 6 year old you will meet.Ā I can be shy when I first meet you, though more in the shelter than at my foster home. I’m brave and resilient, and I’m ready to blossom into the silly, happy dog that I was always meant to be. I’m already housebroken, too, as long as you keep me on a schedule and get me out regularly. I was found as a stray and no one came to claim me.Ā While it felt good to be cared for and loved, the big shelter felt awfully stressful to a shy gal like me. I enrolled in Wayside’s Confidence College, where I made so much progress and met lots of new friends. I am so smart. I know sit, look, touch, down and go out. I am a shy girl who takes a little time to warm up to people. I would do well in a home that is willing to be patient with me while I get comfortable. Once I warm up, I enjoy getting scratches on my chest and neck and curling up on a cozy bed. I am really laid back and easy going. I have been sleeping on the couch. I get free run of the house with no issues. I love car rides and jump in like a champ. At the shelter, I preferred to coexist with other dogs. I offered polite sniffs to new dogs but did not seem interested in interacting more than that. I would do best with other dogs that are willing to respect my space when I need it. Here at my foster home, I don't pay any attention to the dog that is here. We are fine just doing our own thing. I think I would be into playing if the other dog like to run and chase. I love to go for walks or just hang out in the yard.Ā I have excellent leash manners. I ignore other dogs I meet along the way. I do sometimes get startled with strange and loud noises. I hope to find a quiet and calm home without a lot of commotion and with kids over the age of at least 6, who will respect my boundaries and give me space.Ā I would do best with another laid-back dog who enjoys some running and chasing.Ā Or as your only dog.Ā Either is fine with me. Life can be so unpredictable. One day you’re all alone in the world, and the next thing you know, someone special believes in you and makes all the difference in your life. That’s what happened to me when my foster mom gave me a chance to shine. She has taught me that I can do this! I can be a beloved family dog who shows unconditional love and loyalty every single day. Let me do that for you. Let me make your life better just by being your dog.Ā Please call adoptions at (816) 986-4426 so my foster mom can bring me down to meet you. Love, Rain
