About Charlie

Charlie is, quite simply, a fantastic companion with a huge personality. He loves racing through the yard but is happiest when he gets to be right beside you, nudging into your daily life. Found on a ranch road in Hondo, Charlie took to home life immediately—he jumped into the truck, flopped down, and decided he was staying put. After four months in foster care, a few things are clear: Charlie needs plenty of room to run, or someone active who’ll take him on adventures like hiking and fishing. He’s made for a lively home or a person ready for playful antics. Charlie prefers to be the center of attention—expect him to try to claim your lap whenever possible. He’s quick-witted, sometimes to a fault, and has outsmarted humans more than once with his mischievous streak. He’s crate trained, eats and naps in his crate, and needs to be crated whenever left alone (otherwise, your home might not look the same when you return). In the kitchen, keep an eye on him—he has no shame in counter-surfing for snacks! Charlie gets along well with other dogs and isn’t bothered by cats. He’s been in a home with three dogs and a cat, and he does very well with children. He’s a two-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, possibly with a bit of pit; he weighs about 30 lbs and is working on putting on more weight. He’s neutered and fully vaccinated. Charlie will thrive in a home where he’ll get the attention, adventure, and affection he craves. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
