Cupcake is a gentle little senior Yorkshire Terrier with a heart as soft as her name suggests—a calm, loving companion who seems to understand that life is best enjoyed at a slower, sweeter pace. Around 10 yrs old, she’s wonderfully easygoing and quiet, never barking and rarely fazed by loud noises or new surroundings. Whether she’s meeting men, women, or passing neighbors, Cupcake greets everyone with a warm, accepting demeanor. She’s equally polite with other dogs, happy to exchange a friendly sniff and move along. Her foster describes her as incredibly sweet and affectionate—she adores being held yet is just as content curled up in her cozy bed nearby, quietly keeping you company. In the home, Cupcake is a devoted little shadow who enjoys following her person from room to room and settling wherever you are. She sleeps soundly through the night tucked in bed with her human and spends her days lounging, observing, and exploring at her own pace. While she’s still working on housetraining and doesn’t yet signal when she needs to go out, she is making steady progress. She does best when crated during alone time, as she’s still learning boundaries and can get a bit curious with things like the trash. Cupcake responds to her name and comes when called, and while she hasn’t learned formal commands yet, she’s motivated by food and eager to please. Cupcake isn’t interested in toys, but she loves the simple joys—sniffing her surroundings on leisurely walks, lounging outdoors beside her person, and watching the world go by. Her slower pace means walks are more about exploration than distance, making her an ideal companion for someone who appreciates mindful moments. She eats a soft diet due to dental needs and has the cutest little habit of pawing at her bowl when she’s ready for a meal. With her calm temperament, loving nature, and gentle presence, Cupcake would make a wonderful companion for a quiet home—and her foster even believes she’d shine as a therapy dog, perhaps comforting children as they read aloud in a peaceful setting. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs.
