Say hello to Babycat Purrmachine! She lives up to her name, purring when she eats, plays, sleeps, and receiving gentle pets. When she makes biscuits, she often purrs in time with her little kitten paws. Babycat came to TCR with other cats on a euthanasia list in an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina. We are so glad we took Babycat and her friends in so they can now live their best lives! Babycat loves nothing more than playing! She chases wand toys with the flare of Simone Biles: flipping, tumbling, and high flying. (Her double-twisting back layout can use some work, according to the French judge.) She slides on the hardwood floors, running after springs, ping-pong balls, and yes, her tail. She will even get so locked in on playing, that she will roll off the bed! Babycat also explores her world with confidence and gusto, sniffing every spot in the room. And then, in classic kitten fashion, she curls up, purrs, and snoozes. Friendly to everyone, Babycat greets her foster mom with little meows, chirps, and trills. Her tail quivers with excitement (she knows playtime is coming!). This little kitten gives big head bumps and leg rubs. She is still learning to feel safe sitting on close to her foster family, being handled, and receiving pets when she does not initiate them. She seems to like gentle pets right now, rather than scritches. Babycat's adopter will need to follow her lead with physical touch, honoring this girlie's independence. But with a bit of time to build trust, she would do well in a home with children and other pets. While she is frightened by that cat in the mirror, a playful feline friend at home is essential for her to burn off all that that kitten energy. Babycat is about 4-5 months old. She is spayed, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you are looking to brighten up your home, this little ball of sweetness is the kitten for you!
