About Guinn
Meet Guinn, a gentle soul who is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home in Fort Worth, TX. This 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix has had a tough start, spending much of her life fending for herself, so her trust in people is still a work in progress. Guinn is shy around new people, but she's drawn to the company of other dogs—her true personality comes alive when she's with canine friends. For her, a household with a confident resident dog is a must, ideally one that can help her adjust and grow. Guinn has already been fully vetted. She is heartworm positive and will need to undergo treatment, which means her environment should be calm, with access to a secure yard and limited activity while she recovers. She needs someone patient who has experience with shy or under-socialized dogs. When she's comfortable, Guinn enjoys short bursts of play with other dogs and appreciates having a safe place to explore at her own pace. If you can provide a quiet, understanding home and a good dog companion, Guinn will reward you with her subtle affection and gentle presence as she continues to come out of her shell. She may take time to show her full personality, but it’s worth the wait. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Guinn
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
A dog like Guinn, a Great Pyrenees mix, does best in a calm home with a yard or outdoor space to explore. These dogs are generally most comfortable in homes with patient guardians and secure environments.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Guinn's Great Pyrenees mix background means she appreciates a securely fenced yard for safe play and exploration. While she enjoys outdoor time, especially with canine friends, her activity should be limited during heartworm treatment.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Great Pyrenees mixes like Guinn can be good with children who are calm and respectful, but because Guinn is shy and recovering from heartworm, a quieter home without many young kids may be more comfortable for her as she settles in.
