He gets along with other dogs and needs a terrier-savvy adopter.
About King
King looks like the perfect Chewbacca-Ewok mix, but don’t be fooled—there’s plenty of personality packed into this nine-pound, long-haired terrier mix. Surrendered to rescue in rough shape, King came in underweight with weak back legs from too much time in a crate. After months of solid care, his muscle tone and weight have bounced back. Now, he’s energetic, looks healthy, and walks well on a leash. King’s got opinions, and he doesn’t keep them to himself. He guards his food, toys, and treats, especially around strangers, and isn’t shy about showing some attitude with new people—especially if you try to mess with his harness. With patience and understanding, he’ll transform into a loyal, shadow-like companion and ride-along partner. King has done well with most dogs, provided they steer clear of his prized belongings, and his social skills are improving with time. King must go to a home in the Hanover County or Richmond-metro area, or counties adjacent to Hanover. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworms. No small children for this guy—the vibes just aren’t right. King needs a terrier-savvy, patient adopter who’s willing to give him the time and space to bond on his terms. Fun fact: with a January 20th birthday, King is an Aquarius—so don’t expect him to play by the usual rules. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
