About Blackie
Blackie came to the shelter after life as a stray and arrived in rough shape, dealing with severe skin issues and eye infections. Over the past year, she's made huge progress working alongside the veterinarian, and while most of her hair won't grow back, her skin health has turned a corner. Blackie isn’t contagious to people or other dogs and hardly ever bothers her skin—she rarely scratches. She’s a sweet, resilient dog who knows multiple commands and is very social with other dogs. Life in the shelter has made it hard for Blackie to keep weight on, but she loves her food and should fill out as soon as she’s out of the stressful environment. Blackie gets along well with other dogs and loves children. She’d do best with someone who can look past her hairless spots and offer the love and comfort she hasn’t had. Blackie has had a tough start and deserves a soft place to land next. Give her the home she’s been waiting for. Start your journey together! Apply now.
