About Blackie

This could be the start of something paw-some. Blackie arrived at the shelter a year ago after being found as a stray, suffering from severe skin issues and eye infections. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care, her skin has improved greatly—although she'll likely always have some hairless spots, these don't affect her happiness or health and she isn't contagious to humans or other dogs. Despite her rough start, she's a sweet and loyal dog who knows several commands, enjoys the company of other dogs, and charms everyone she meets with her friendly demeanor. Blackie doesn't currently need any special care—she simply has a unique look that needs a special adopter to recognize her inner beauty. While shelter stress makes it difficult for her to maintain weight, she loves to eat and this is expected to resolve in a loving home. Blackie dreams of finding someone to give her the cozy home and love she truly deserves. She's a wonderful companion waiting for her second chance—give her a home and you'll be rewarded with a loyal and affectionate friend for life. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
