Both were dumped out in the countryside; they were seen trying to survive for weeks by a local farmer. Nonnie, the mastiff was looking after Nellie. The farmer called the Colusa shelter and they were picked up showing signs of dehydration and malnutrition. They were covered in ticks and Nellie was severely matted with embedded foxtails. Thanks to the care they received at the shelter, they are good shape now to be spayed as the next step to a loving foster home or adoption together.
