SNEAKY-CHEEKY AND A BARREL OF FUN That is what Sneaky Pete is made of. If you like a dog ready for adventure with a courageous heart, fearless attitude and a desire to be included in whatever the day calls for, Sneaky is your man. This little guy is a party on wheels and makes no apologies. He is built for fun and adventure and would love a home or family that can provide both. Don't worry about him being too much though. He is happy to spend an afternoon on the couch or in the chair with you while you binge watch Netflix or catch up on a good book. His snuggle skills are just as good as his party skills and he loves to exercise both, in equal measure. Sneaky was found by an employee of a UHaul facility, which is located across a busy highway, from our local shelter. It is thought that he was probably brought to the shelter, to be surrendered, but they were not taking in animals at the time, so they just left him there, outside where he found a friend that would feed him, at the UHaul. She was very worried about him crossing the highway, to go back and see if his people had come back for him though, and asked if we could take him. He is currently about 18 months old, weighs 11lbs and is what we think, is a mix of Min Pin and Chihuahua, though with that short stubby nose, he could have some Boston or Pug going on too. He is an adorable chap, built for fun with a very keen mind, sweet personality and a desire to please. Sneaky is housebroken but new owners can expect a bit of marking initially, especially if there are other male markers currently in the home. He is crate trained, a great traveler, good on a leash but a little all over the place because there is just so much he wants to see and do. He is fine with children over the age of five and lives with a variety of dogs of every size, breed and both genders, plus a couple dog savvy cats. With that being said, he does love to chase the cats, if he can get them to run and is not afraid to start something with another dog, big or small, if he is challenged. He fancies himself a tough guy, except for when it comes to the ladies, so a home with fun, playful females his size, would be his idea of Heaven. Be aware, if you have other male dogs or some kitty cats, you will have to play referee from time to time. So far, all skirmishes have been nothing more than noise and spit. Sneaky Pete got his name, because in his foster home, he never seemed to stay where he was put. If he was in the yard and his foster went out to feed horses, Sneaky showed up (he did well with the horses). If he was supposed to be in the laundry room, taking a nap, he would show up in the garden, ready for chores. His foster called in her handy man, to fix the holes that Sneaky found and he now stays where he is put but he will find the holes in your fences and baby gates, if they exist. Not to worry about him running off though. He just wants to join you because he is nosy that way and feels he should be included in on whatever you are doing. Sneaky also loves treats and toys and is highly motivated by both. So if this little cutie patootie, is the kind of sidekick, family member or best friend you have been looking for, we would love to read your application.
