Cookie (approximately 75 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. Her previous shelter listed her as a Coonhound mix, but after spending a little time with her, we think Cookie is part Great Dane. She is sweet and exceedingly goofy - for example, when Cookie wants your attention & you are not giving it to her, she will jump straight up in the air. Like, straight up, as if her feet are on springs. It is adorable and VERY attention-getting, and Cookie knows this, because once she's bounced enough to get your attention, she will dramatically thrown herself down on the ground, belly up, expecting belly rubs. And you'd better believe we comply because her belly is irresistible! Cookie loves other dogs and will happily wrestle with them when given the chance - her best friend in Texas was a Husky mix named Patrick, and they had very active play dates with lots of rough & tumble play. Cookie's long legs make is very easy for her to counter-surf - she doesn't even need to stand up on her hind legs to get to the counter. Folks with large dog experience will expect this, of course, but we mention it just in case, LOL!
