About Cooper
Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Cooper! Goofy, gorgeous, and gangly, Cooper is a 5-year-old boy with a big heart and a loyal spirit. Whether it’s a game, walk, car ride, or simply relaxing nearby, he is happiest when he’s part of the action. Blending the strengths of a Great Dane and Catahoula Leopard Dog, Cooper weighs in at 89 pounds and needs an adopter with large-dog experience. He loves to exercise and thrives on a daily routine, making him an ideal companion for an active, partly outdoorsy person or family. Fetch and tug are favorite games, and he’ll gladly keep you company outside. Though Cooper has faced changes and loss, leaving him feeling unsettled and anxious at times, he remains deeply loyal and affectionate. His intelligence shines through, even if he hasn’t had much formal training, and he is eager to learn with loving support. Cooper can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but patience and understanding help him blossom into a devoted companion. He would thrive in a calm and consistent environment, ideally with a fenced yard (apartments aren’t suitable for his size and needs). Cooper gets along well with other playful and patient dogs after proper introductions. He has no experience with cats or children, so an adult-only home or a home with older children is best. This is a home-to-home adoption with the guidance of a responsible rescue, ensuring Cooper finds a loving fit. The adoption fee will be donated to animal advocacy. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Cooper
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Great Dane/Catahoula Leopard Dog mixes are best suited for homes with plenty of space, such as a house with a securely fenced yard. They thrive in environments where they can move freely and feel part of the family action.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix needs a significant amount of outdoor space to stretch, play, and exercise. A fenced yard is strongly recommended to keep them healthy, happy, and safe.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While both breeds can be affectionate and gentle, their large size means they are best matched with families who have older, respectful children rather than toddlers. They do best in homes that are mindful of their strength and energy.
