About Herbie
Meet Herbie! This Feist mix was rescued from Mississippi and has since bounced back after a tough start. Once underweight, Herbie put on 7 healthy pounds in just 10 days, now thriving as a happy, active pup. He's an easygoing social butterfly—Herbie loves people, makes friends everywhere he goes, and always brings the energy. Wrestling with dog siblings, chasing sticks at the park, and splashing in water are his greatest joys. After some play he’s all about cuddles, happy to flop beside you for ear scratches or plant a few kisses for good measure. Herbie naturally wants to be wherever the action is—he’s a classic shadow dog. He’s crate trained, goes in without any trouble, and is making solid progress with housetraining. Leash manners and recall are coming along well, and he responds quickly to redirection, though he sometimes barks at movement (his hunting dog roots show) but keeps it in check with guidance. He thrives in a home with another confident, playful dog, and while he’s good with dog-savvy cats, he’s best without small animals due to prey drive. Herbie is looking for an active, loving forever family who can keep his clever mind and busy body engaged. Born September 13, Herbie is a practical and determined Virgo, in case you’re wondering about his star sign. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
