About Daisy
Daisy came into foster care after her previous owner, who was homeless, surrendered her for emergency treatment when Daisy was hit by a car. Despite a limp on her front right leg from the accident, Daisy is energetic and doesn’t let it slow her down. She’s a medium-sized girl with a playful streak, always eager for chew toys, and happiest when she’s running outside. Daisy thrives in the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with at least one friendly dog and a spacious, securely fenced yard—her recall is a work in progress. She cannot live with cats or ducks and isn’t tested with children. When new people visit, Daisy tends to be shy at first, but she warms up given time and patience. Indoors, she’s accustomed to being in the kitchen if no one is home, and she’s house trained but does best with frequent outings. Daisy eats quickly and will bark and growl if another dog approaches her food, but shows no issues with people handling her bowl. She’s vaccinated and receives regular flea and tick prevention. Daisy needs a patient adopter willing to give her time to adjust. In the right home, she’ll become a loyal, goofy companion. She’s ready for a fresh start and will quickly steal your heart. Questions about Daisy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Beagle/Treeing Walker Coonhound mixes like Daisy typically do best in homes with a yard or regular access to outdoor space, as they are energetic and thrive on activity. Apartment life can work if provided enough exercise, but they usually prefer having room to roam.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Daisy's mix often requires a sizable, securely fenced yard to safely burn energy and play, especially since Beagles and Treeing Walker Coonhounds have strong scent-driven instincts that make off-leash outings risky.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Beagle/Treeing Walker Coonhound mixes like Daisy are generally gentle and playful, making them suitable for families with children, though individual personalities and prior experiences should always be considered. Daisy herself hasn't been tested with children.
