About Rumi

Fluffy, shy, treat motivated, and sweet. This little ball of fun really enjoys mingling with other dogs and hanging out in the office with staff here at the shelter. Rumi takes a minute to warm up to new people but treats really speed up that process.

About Shiba Inu Dogs

Shiba Inus are small, spirited Japanese dogs with a fox-like face, curled tail, and a bold, confident personality. They are the most popular companion dog in Japan and are known for their independent, cat-like demeanor. Their "Shiba scream," a distinctive high-pitched vocalization, is unmistakable.

Adopting a Shiba Inu brings a clean, alert companion who is surprisingly calm and quiet at home. They are loyal to their family, naturally clean (often grooming themselves like cats), and adapt well to apartment living. Their independent spirit means they appreciate an owner who respects their autonomy.
