Meet Onix! This handsome guy is ready to roll his way right into your heart. Onix's previous family shared that he is a very friendly and social cat who enjoys being around his people. He's known for his adorable little meows- he will happily chat with you about his day (or remind you when it's time for snacks!). Onix is also a big fan of treats, which can be a great way to bond with him and keep him engaged. Whether you're relaxing at home or looking for a buddy to keep you company, Onix is happy to be by your side soaking up attention. Onix hasn't lived with other animals before, so any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly to help him feel comfortable. It's especially important to note that if there are pet birds in the home, they will need to be kept completely separate from Onix to ensure everyone's safety. You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You'll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you're ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you'd like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org.
