About Daisy Mae

*Please contact the foster at, HMDUGGER@GMAIL.COM* This beauty is incredibly sweet and cuddly. She came to her foster mom’s house pregnant, ready to give birth to 5 babies at any second. She had the tiny babies like a saint, not making a single noise during the birth. She took such good care of them and it’s her time to be spoiled. Her babies are all grown and adopted and Daisy Mae is ready to be the baby. She is a former street cat, but she is loving the indoor, good life. She loves the brush I have mounted to the wall. She loves being brushed. She loves being pet. She tries to be big and bad by hissing once at new people but within a minute is rolling on her back asking for pets and then rubbing up against your legs. She loves a scratcher - post, wall hanging version, climbing version. Her purring is one of the cutest sounds i have ever heard - a happy chirp mixed with usual purring. She adores chin and neck scratches. She never bites or scratches me. She’s okay with being held. She has had minimal interactions with her foster moms but the few she has, she was cautious and let them explore while she stayed tucked away from a safe distance. Her previous foster said she was friendly with her large dog. Supposedly, there are two types of cats - ground(bush) dwellers and sky(tree) dwellers and Daisy Mae is one of the few ground dwellers I’ve fostered. She loves the cool wood floors and stays low, I’ve never seen her on the floor to ceiling cat tree or the window hammock. She prefers a cozy, dark place in a corner or the open, cool floor for a spread and a snooze. Then, there’s her absolute adorableness and stunning beauty. She’s always grooming herself to make her silky coat perfect. It’s a lovely calico color and she has white mittens and socks. Her face is split down the middle with black on the left and orangey cream on the right. Her bright white whiskers contrast against her colors. Her color is stunning and her face is stupidly cute, it reminds me of Mogwai (gremlins when they’re cute and not being fed after midnight). She has a scrunched up face with a teeny tiny nose and I just can’t stand it. Her eyes are a lovely greenish yellow. She loves to greet you the instant you open the door with cuddles and the cutest chirp/meows. I swear she understands every word I say and basically speaks English back. She’s so good at communicating and it’s so fun to chat with her. When her kids were being crazy, she would would vent to her foster mom, when she’s happy, she uses happy chirps to compliment and thank her foster mom, when she’s worried, she gives her foster mom worried look and makes short clicks. When it was time for the kittens to start on cat food, she let her foster mom know, even though it was technically a week earlier than recommend. She looked at her foster mom, she looked at the cat food, outside the kitten area, and back at foster mom. When the kittens went to nurse, she got up and sat next to the cat food and stared at her foster mom. Her foster mom immediately knew what Daisy Mae wanted, brought over the dry kitten food, added some canned wet kitten food, and the kittens never looked back! She’s so smart and loving. Daisy has an interesting genetic features, what her foster mom thinks is “lobster claw” - a rare congenital condition known as ectrodactyly or syndactyly, where the paw is split longitudinally or toes are fused, resembling a crustacean claw. Hers happens on both her front paws, Middle toes, where the claw comes out the kiddo and the toe looks like a heart! She passed this onto all five of her babies. This will not cause any issues or changes in her life. Just an interesting fact. Daisy Mae would do great in many types of home. Because she is calm and patient, homes with respectful children would be just fine. Her foster mom THINKS she would be fine in a home with dogs and cats, as long as they are calm and know social cues. Because she doesn’t climb up high, she needs spaces she can get to away from dogs when she needs a break (room with a puppy gate?). She would also do lovely as the only pet as she enjoys her peace and quiet. She’s a no fuss, chill girl, who likes a dark corner and a cold floor. She would make so many families or individuals happy!
