Meet Bandit! DOB: February 2024 Weight: 18 lbs History: Rescued from a Kern County shelter when he was at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Meet Bandit: The One-Eyed Hall Monitor! Breed: French Bulldog Occupation: Self-Appointed Supervisor Special Skills: Human Snuggling & Conflict "Management" His Personality Bandit is a one-eyed wonder who doesn't let anything get past him. He is incredibly human-friendly, affectionate, and has a headstrong personality that will keep you laughing daily. If you are looking for a dog who is truly "present" in everything you do, Bandit is your guy. The "Intervener" Bandit has a very specific hobby: he likes to be the boss of everyone else's business. If he senses another dog is being submissive or if there's a situation he thinks needs "managing," he will run directly into the middle of it to interject himself. He's essentially the "Fun Police." The Good News: He isn't looking for a fight; he's looking for control. The Reality: He needs a home that can redirect that "intervener" energy. His Ideal Pack Bandit currently has a roommate, Boomer, and they are great friends! They even eat their meals side-by-side in perfect harmony. Bandit thrives with: Confident Companions: He does best with dogs like Boomer--sturdy, balanced dogs who aren't intimidated and will calmly tell Bandit to "mind his own business" when he gets too pushy. Savvy Humans: He needs an owner who recognizes when he's about to "interject" and can redirect him before he takes over the situation. No "Pushovers": Bandit will pick on dogs that are timid or insecure, so a confident sibling (or being an only dog) is a must. Life with Bandit Human Relations: 10/10. He loves everyone he meets! Manners: Excellent diner! Shares space well with respectful dogs during mealtime. Training: Headstrong but smart. He respects boundaries when they are clearly set. A Note from the Rescue: > Bandit is a big personality in a small, one-eyed package. He's looking for a leader who can appreciate his spunk while keeping his "management" tendencies in check. In return, you'll get a loyal, hilarious companion who will never let you have a boring moment. Pro-Tip for Adopters: Because Bandit likes to "interject," he's a great candidate for basic focus training. A simple "Leave it" or "Place" command works wonders for a dog who thinks they need to be the boss of every room!
