About Roof

Meet Roof, a 10-month-old Pomeranian/Husky mix weighing 24 pounds. Roof is still learning to trust people and can be shy when first meeting new faces, but with time, patience, and a gentle approach, his personality begins to shine through. He often looks to other dogs for reassurance and guidance as he continues building confidence in the world around him. Roof enjoys playing with toys and stuffed animals, and he finds comfort and fun in simple playtime activities. He is still learning how to navigate new experiences and will thrive in a home that understands his need for patience, consistency, and positive encouragement. For his safety and success, his future home must include another confident dog to help guide him and support his continued progress. A secure fenced yard is also required, giving him a safe space to explore, play, and build confidence at his own pace. He would also do best in a calm, patient home environment where he is given the time he needs to adjust and feel secure. We are currently working with Roof on handling exercises to help build his confidence, as well as leash skills to support his ongoing progress. A required in-person meet and greet is the best way to ensure a great match for both Roof and potential adopters. If you have the time, patience, and a steady canine companion to help him grow, we encourage you to come meet Roof and see if he's the right fit. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
