About Murphy

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY. TODD MEET MURPHY – YOUR NEXT BEST FRIEND Murphy is the kind of dog who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. At 5 years old and 50 lbs, he’s the perfect balance of playful energy and loyal companionship. Affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality, Murphy has been deeply loved—and it shows in how much he connects with people. Murphy is hopeful his second chance is right around the corner—a foster or forever home where he can truly shine. Murphy thrives on connection. He loves being part of the family—joining in on daily life, soaking up attention, and making you smile. He’s smart and eager to please, already knowing commands like sit, stay, and lie down (especially when treats are involved). He also enjoys a good game of fetch, especially with his favorite stuffed toys. MURPHY’S HIGHLIGHTS: • Affectionate and people-loving • Dog-friendly (confirmed by trainer) • House trained • Great on leash and enjoys walks • Smart, trainable, and eager to learn Murphy is an energetic hound mix, which means he loves to explore and follow his nose. Like many dogs his age, he can get excited when greeting people and may jump up, but with structure and consistency, he will continue to improve. He would do best in a home that can provide guidance, routine, and an outlet for his energy. A home with another dog would be a wonderful bonus. Murphy is deeply loved, but not the right fit for his current home—and we are committed to finding him the place where he can truly thrive.
