About Odin
Odin is a gentle giant who’s had a tough time lately. He was abandoned with a fellow Great Pyrenees and left to survive on his own for months, but he’s been filling out and regaining his strength in foster care. Odin is all about the company of other big dogs; a home with another large or giant dog would be ideal for him. His background as a livestock guardian isn't clear, and right now Odin would bolt if let loose on wide-open land. Still, if given a patient buddy—especially another livestock dog—he might eventually settle into that sort of job. For now, he’s content just being a companion to big canine friends. Odin is fully housebroken and clearly enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He doesn’t seek attention right away—he’s shy and reserved, with a quiet presence—but once he trusts someone, he’s devoted and sweet-natured. Odin needs slow, gentle handling from an adopter willing to give him space to rebuild his confidence with people. He’s currently in Schertz, TX, looking for someone with a kind approach and extra room in their home and heart. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Odin
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Odin, as an Anatolian Shepherd, typically thrives in homes with plenty of space, ideally rural or suburban settings with secure fencing. He appreciates a calm environment where he isn’t overwhelmed by noise or traffic.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Anatolian Shepherds like Odin need a large backyard or even acreage to move around. They’re built for room to roam, so a small apartment would not suit him.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Odin’s breed, the Anatolian Shepherd, can do well with children if properly socialized but may be best with older kids due to his size and reserved nature. Supervision and gentle introductions are recommended.
